FIRST SCHOOL UNIT WAS OPENED IN THE 80'S
STORY
Speakeasy was created with the intention of bringing to São Marcos the first Language School of international standard . It was the end of the 1980s, the cold war was over and, in this way, the neoliberal model of government around the world took shape, leveraging the process of economic globalization. Also in São Marcos there was a need to improve their knowledge of English as many companies started their exports.
The founders Mônica Elisa Scodro and Ana Paula Borghetti , after an exchange of 6 months in England, opened the school, brought innovative materials and resources and attracted more and more students.
Families also saw the need to offer their children the opportunity to study English while they were at school and the format of classes offered, always seeking to value relationships and enhance different types of learning, contributed to Speakeasy's success.
PIONEERING IN THE TEACHING OF LANGUAGES TO CHILDREN
In the 90's, the partner owner Sandra Regina Scodro became part of the school and specialized in teaching children in the literacy phase . The School was a pioneer in teaching languages for children from 7 years of age, and later also opened the “Little Bilinguals” course with a methodology specially developed for children from 3 years of age, thus adding another course to the your portfolio.
ALSO SPANISH AND ITALIAN CLASSES
The second language offered by Speakeasy was Spanish , also due to its importance on the international scene. Second only to Mandarin, Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world. More than 477 million people are native speakers, and 100 million have the language as a second language.
For a while, Speakeasy offered French classes.
Italiano is a Speakeasy differential due to its cultural importance in our region, being the granddaughters of Italian immigrant Antonio Scodro .
